Chantilly, Va.—BIA/Kelsey, a consultancy specializing in local media, on Thursday raised its forecast for radio industry revenue for 2010. The firm now expects radio industry revenue to reach $14.21 billion this year, an increase of 3.7% over last year.

Earlier this year, BIA/Kelsey had predicted total industry revenue of $13.9 billion, an increase of 1.5% over 2009. “We're confident that there is still a lot of room for growth in radio, but it will be a slow and steady rise that shouldn't be measured by the results of a single quarter,” said Mark Fratrik, VP at BIA/Kelsey, said in a statement.
