Big growth in online revenue predicted

Published on .

Peterborough, N.H.--Online revenue is expected to grow more than 200% this year, according to ``Real Numbers Behind 'Net Profits,'' an annual study by ActivMedia Research. Online revenue growth should slow to about 139% in 2001 and drop to about 92% in 2002, the study predicted. Revenue growth on b-to-b and media/portal Web sites is expected to be strongest, because these sites generally arrived later to the Web than sites selling directly to consumers. E-commerce revenue growth for b-to-b sites will increase 257% this year, 160% in 2001, and 97% in 2002, the report predicted.
