Bill would extend Web tax moratorium

A new bill sponsored by Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Calif.) would extend the Internet taxes moratorium for five years. The current moratorium ends in October 2001. The Direct Marketing Association and some of its member companies are among the most active lobbyists on behalf of extending the moratorium.
