New York—For the second straight month, b-to-b ad revenue showed healthy gains in October, up 7% from the same month in 2004, according to the latest Business Information Network (BIN) report. Revenue rose 7% for the year to date. Ad page gains were more moderate, up 2.7% for October and 2.5% year to date. Ad categories posting strong gains in October included banking, financial, insurance (up 24% in October and 24% year to date) and resources, environment, utilities (up 17% in October and 10% year to date). Business, advertising, marketing is also on the upswing, with pages up 9% in October and 2% year to date. Ad revenue was up 30% in October and 8% year to date.
