New York—Ad revenue in b-to-b publications dropped 1.9% through May compared with the same period last year, according to the latest Business Information Network report from American Business Media. Ad pages declined 3.2% during the same period. The hardest-hit categories through the first five months were computing, software, telecommunications (down 12.2% in ad pages and 18.6% in ad revenue); movies, radio and TV (down 11.9% in ad pages and 5.3% in ad revenue); and transportation, logistics (down 6.4% in ad pages and 4.8% in ad revenue). Ad categories posting gains included architecture, design, lighting (up 11.3% in ad pages and 21.7% in ad revenue) and resources, environment, utilities (up 4.1% in ad pages and 10.1% in ad revenue).
