New York—Ad revenue was up 3.6% for the first six months of this year over the first six months of 2004, according to the Business Information Network report, conducted for American Business Media by IMS/The Auditor and PERQ/HCI for health care. “This is a positive indication for the industry and is in line with our forecast of 3% to 4% revenue growth for 2005,” said Gordon T. Hughes II, president-CEO of American Business Media. “Print revenue continues its modest growth and adds to the overall good health of the business-to-business industry,” he said. Leading ad categories for the first half of the year for ad revenue were government (up 18.9%) and banking, financial and insurance (up 15%). In June, ad revenue was up 3.3% over June 2004, and ad pages were up 1.8% over June 2004. For ad revenue, the leading category in June was science, research, & development (up 23%), and for ad pages, the leading category was automotive (up 23.1%).
