Bing expands local business information from Localeze

By Published on .

Redmond, Wash.—Microsoft Corp. is extending its relationship with Localeze by adding the local business database company's Enhanced Business Registry of 14 million listings, including 500,000 local businesses, to its Bing search engine results.

Localeze already supplies Microsoft with basic contact information for local businesses, such as names, addresses and phone numbers. The expanded content will provide such additional data as operating hours, products and services offered, and credit cards accepted.

Local search is becoming increasingly competitive. This week AT&T announced the launch of Buzz.com, a site that taps into users' social network for business recommendations.
