Blackfriars sets marketing index at 152 for fourth quarter

Maynard, Mass.—Blackfriars Communications has set the Blackfriars Marketing Index at 152 for the fourth quarter, indicating that companies expect to spend 52% more on marketing this quarter than they spent on average per quarter in 2003.

Blackfriars also released its marketing category indices for nine types of marketing spending. They showed that spending on advertising and direct marketing should see the strongest proportional rise in the third quarter.

Web site development and concept testing will see the weakest activity compared with normal quarterly spending.
