Bloomberg names Tyrangiel editor of ‘BusinessWeek’

By Published on .

New York—Bloomberg L.P. announced Tuesday that Josh Tyrangiel will take over as editor of BusinessWeek when the company completes its acquisition of the magazine from McGraw-Hill Cos., which is expected in December.

Tyrangiel is currently deputy managing editor of Time and managing editor of Time.com. He will report to Norman Pearlstine, chief content office at Bloomberg.

“Working closely with him in the years I served as Time Inc.’s editor in chief, I came to appreciate his intelligence, curiosity, energy and integrity,” Pearlstine said in a statement, adding: “His understanding of the ways in which print and online publications can work together will serve Bloomberg well as we expand our consumer media offerings.”
