New York—Bloomberg View, the new opinion section of Bloomberg News, officially debuted Wednesday on both the Bloomberg Professional service and on Bloomberg.com. The Bloomberg View launch included columns by Margaret Carlson, Jeffrey Goldberg and Peter Orszag.
Bloomberg also rolled out Tuesday a revamped Bloomberg.com. A post on the Bloomberg Blog explained the change: "It's reflective of a new phase at Bloomberg.com. For many years, the site has been an automated feed from Bloomberg News. Today marks the beginning of a gradual transition, emphasis on gradual, to a more editorially driven site."
Bloomberg.com averaged 12.6 million monthly unique visitors in the first quarter of the year, an 88% increase over the year-earlier period, according to comScore Media Metrix figures.
