BMA presents Crain Award to gyro's Hensley

Chicago—The Business Marketing Association Thursday named Mike Hensley, exec VP-managing director of marketing agency gyro, as this year's winner of the G.D. Crain Award. The honor recognizes career achievement in b-to-b marketing and service on behalf of the BMA at the national level. The award is named for G.D. Crain Jr., founder of Crain Communications Inc., which publishes BtoB. David Klein, VP-publishing and editorial director of the Ad Age Group at Crain, presented the award to Hensley at a BMA Chicago luncheon. Hensley has spent more than 30 years at his agency, including his tenure at HSR Business to Business, which merged with gyro in 2009. He has been a BMA member for 26 years and served as president of the Cincinnati chapter and international chairman of the association. “This award means a lot to me in terms of the recognition from this organization that has done so much to advance my career. I'm very happy to receive it,” Hensley said in an interview after the luncheon. “Today has been an opportunity for me to really thank all of the people that have helped me along the way over these years. So as much as I've given to BMA, what's more important to me is what I've received from BMA and the people I've been associated with.”
