Boeing, C1 test aerospace hub

Published on .

Seattle--Aerospace giant Boeing Co. said Tuesday it has completed a pilot program with Commerce One Inc. to link ``hundreds'' of Boeing trading partners to Exostar Inc., the aerospace and defense industry e-marketplace. The two companies have developed a system to connect suppliers to the Web marketplace using traditional electronic data interchange technology, which Boeing uses to communicate with most of its suppliers today. EDI service provider GE Global Exchange Services also participated in the trial. Getting suppliers online quickly and easily will help create a liquid marketplace on Exostar.
