‘Boston Globe’ launches ad campaign in face of closure threat

Published on .

Boston—The Boston Globe has launched an advertising campaign just days after the New York Times Co. threatened to close the newspaper, according to several reports. The campaign includes TV spots and print ads.

New York Times Co. threatened to close the Globe “unless the newspaper’s unions swiftly agree to $20 million in concessions,” the Globe reported Friday.

Both The New York Times and the Globe are losing money as they struggle with a pullback in advertising.
