BPA International adds enhanced search engine to Web site

Shelton,, the Web site of BPA International, has launched a new search engine, “Industry Search,” designed to meet the specific needs of the media/publishing industry. Unlike traditional, general interest search engines, which can produce hundreds of results for the most precise queries, Industry Search targets a finite universe of Web sites for more accurate results, the BPA said. Only Web sites of interest to the media buying community have been indexed, so information has been filtered before the search process even begins. “Industry- or topic-specific information can be found on the big search engines--AltaVista, Google--but users must wade through a mountain of irrelevant information to obtain all the applicable results,” said Glenn Hansen, BPA president-CEO.
