William D. Littleford, chairman emeritus of BPI Communications (now part of Nielsen Business Media) died May 14 in Princeton, N.J., at the age of 94. His grandfather founded Billboard in 1894, and Littleford joined the company in 1934. He was appointed general manager in 1946, elected president in 1958 and chairman in 1976, a title he held until 1985. Littleford was active in American Business Media and was chairman of the b-to-b media trade association in 1960-61 when it was known as American Business Press. “I always felt that knowing him made me a little better at what I do,” ABM President-CEO Gordon T.
