Brand Union appoints chief creative officer

New York—The Brand Union, a brand strategy agency that is part of WPP, appointed Richard Bates chief creative officer for North America. Bates was previously executive creative director at Ogilvy & Mather’s brand integration group, which formed a joint venture with Brand Union earlier this year.

In his new role, he will lead creative strategy at Brand Union as well as the joint venture with Ogilvy & Mather.
