Fort Worth, Texas--The Burlington Northern & Santa Fe Railway Co. launched an ad campaign Wednesday that communicates the benefits freight railroads provide consumers. The campaign consists of a series of 30-second TV spots airing nationwide on CNN and CNN Headline News for six weeks. The first commercial in the campaign touts the reduced highway congestion afforded by Burlington Northern's trains, which hauled more than 3.1 million truck trailers in 1998. A second spot focuses on the coal delivered by Burlington Northern trains and the electricity this coal generates. The ads were created by Mr. Big Productions, Chicago.
