Former Bush adviser Hughes joins Burson-Marsteller

New York—Public relations firm Burson-Marsteller announced Wednesday that Karen Hughes, a former adviser to President George W. Bush, has joined the company as global vice chairwoman.

Hughes, former U.S. Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs, will be based in Austin, Texas. She will report to President-CEO Mark J. Penn.

Don Baer, former White House communications director for President Bill Clinton, joined Burson-Marsteller last November.
