New York—Business 2.0 could soon be shuttered. The monthly publication, which was founded in 2000 and is now part of Time Inc.’s Business and Finance Network, continues to struggle adwise. Ad revenue in the first half fell 30.1% compared with the same period in 2006, according to the Publishers Information Bureau. Ad pages declined 34.1% during the same period, according to PIB. A report last week in the New York Times said the San Francisco-based magazine might publish its final issue in September. However, a person familiar with the situation told BtoB the plug will be pulled Aug. 1. This person added that Time Inc. is blocking efforts to buy the magazine because it doesn’t want it as a competitor. Time Inc.’s Business and Finance Network also includes Fortune, Fortune Small Business and CNNMoney.com.
