Business magazine ad revenues dip, ad pages increases

New York—Ad revenues for business publications dropped 1.0% in August compared with the same month in 2004, according to American Business Media’s Business Information Network report. Ad pages were up 1.4% in August. The strongest category in ad revenue growth was banking, financial and insurance, up 34.3% over August 2004. Year-to-date ad revenues in business publications were up 3.2% from the year-earlier period. For the year, the strongest categories in ad revenue growth were banking, financial and insurance (up 19.8% through August) and travel, conventions and meetings (up 14.0%).
