Business publications' ad revenue up slightly year-to-date

New York—Advertising revenue for business publications grew 1.18% though April compared with the same time period in 2005, according to figures released Thursday by American Business Media's Business Information Network (BIN). The strongest ad revenue categories through April were aviation, aerospace and military (up 13.3%), and banking, financial and insurance (up 9.4%).

Some of the weaker ad categories included transportation, logistics (down 6.7%) and science, research and development (down 6.1%).

Ad pages fell 0.68% in the first four months of this year.

Ad revenue increased 2.9% in April compared with April 2005, while ad pages rose 1.5%.
