T-Direct Inc., Reston, Va., said Thursday it is beta testing b-to-b services and software designed for big companies looking to move their travel operations in house. T-Direct said it would feature booking software that works with multiple airline reservation systems, a buyer resource center and an online magazine. T-Direct says competitors have built their Web applications from antiquated client-server technologies, and says its Web-centric approach provides superior management applications. However, such companies as American Express andthe Sabre Group have been building critical mass on the Internet for several years. T-Direct will have its work cut out creating brand strength against those and others already in the $100 billion industry. Commercial release and pricing were undisclosed.
