Cahners announces move to New York

Newton, Mass.--Cahners Business Information formally announced that it will move its headquarters from Newton to New York on Nov. 1. "Manhattan is an important center of the publishing industry and electronic media," acting CEO Brian Nairn said in a statement to Cahners employees. "Being there will strengthen our relationships in these industries and facilitate the partnerships that are so important in the new economy." Mr. Nairn will begin working on a transitional basis out of Cahners' offices on West 17th Street in Manhattan on Nov. 1. In March 2000, Mr. Nairn, along with senior executives from several of the company's service departments-including finance, human resources, operations and legal-will move into permanent offices at 350 Hudson St. Cahners has no current plans to move any other staff based in Newton, according to a statement issued by the company.
