Radnor, Pa.--Cahners Business Information, Newton, Mass., announced it will cut 101 jobs at its Radnor offices and move the operations of several magazines to other Cahners locations in the U.S. The Radnor facility, which houses operations from the former Chilton Publications, which Cahners acquired in 1997, will be scaled back to about a third of its current size of more than 300. The changes follow Cahners' previous elimination of 300 jobs in August in the wake of a sharp decline in profits. The latest changes include the move of Owner Operator, Commercial Carrier Journal, Motor Age, Automotive Marketing, Auto Body Repair News and Food Engineering to Cahners' offices in Des Plaines, Ill. Product Design & Development, Industrial Maintenance & Plant Operations, Instrumentation & Automation News and ECN will move to the Morris Plains, N.J., office. Warehousing Management will move to the Newton, Mass., office. The company is offering 103 Radnor employees the opportunity to relocate with the magazines. About 115 employees will remain at the Radnor facility. JCK (Jewelers' Circular Keystone) magazine and its staff will remain in Radnor. Manufacturing Marketplace staff and sales and editorial employees from several magazines will also remain in Radnor. All moves are to take place by the end of the year.
