Cahners exec leaves to become CEO of publishing start-up

Chicago--Cahners Business Information's Kevin Condon, formerly exec VP of Cahners Travel Group, has joined a growing list of executives leaving the struggling Newton, Mass.-based company. On Nov. 1, Mr. Condon will become CEO of Proximus Information, a business-to-business traditional and online publishing start-up. Backed by private equity firm GTCR Golder Rauner, Chicago, which has committed $100 million in equity financing, Proximus will be based in New York and plans to build its business by acquisition. Executives who have left Cahners in the past two months include CEO Bruce Barnet and CMO Brian Kardon.
