New York--Cahners Business Information announced several moves intended to bolster its commitment to electronic commerce. Charlie Spahr was named senior VP-electronic development and will oversee Cahners' Internet businesses, including Manufacturing Marketplace, e-inSite and Buildingteam.com. Mr. Spahr was previously VP of Cahners' building & construction group, where he helped create Buildingteam.com., a joint venture between Cahners, Orion Capital and Construction Market Data Group. Additionally, Brian Nairn, Cahners COO and interim CEO, announced the formation of a 10-member executive committee to help speed the adoption of e-commerce at the company.
