Canon Communications trimming workforce by 10%

New York—Canon Communications, the b-to-b arm of Apprise Media and publisher of Medical Device & Diagnostic Industry, confirmed Thursday that it is trimming its workforce by 10%, or about 30 people.

A company spokesperson said the cuts are being made in anticipation of flat revenue in fiscal 2009. The company said its revenue for fiscal 2008, ended Sept. 30, increased 23% over fiscal 2007, with a 15% increase in print revenue and 30% increase in event revenue.

The company said it expects digital revenue to increase 15% to 20% in fiscal 2009, following 25% to 30% growth in fiscal 2008. —Sean Callahan
