Canon details plans for two new trade shows

Published on .

Los Angeles—Canon Communications plans to launch two new events in the orthopedic manufacturing sector in 2010.

OrthoTec Conference & Exhibition (www.orthotec.com) will take place May 12–13, in Warsaw, Ind. There will be a European version of the event Sept. 29–30 in Zurich.

Canon said it is holding these new events in the geographic centers of the markets they serve. Warsaw, Ind., is home to some of the world’s largest orthopedic OEMs, including Zimmer Holdings, Biomet Inc. and DePuy Inc.

“The OrthoTec conferences in the U.S. and Europe will focus on design and collaborative product development between leading orthopedic surgeons and R&D directors from the largest orthopedic device manufacturers, as well as technical sessions on best manufacturing and quality practices,” Kevin O’Keefe, senior VP of Canon’s events division, said in a statement.
