Carat revises global ad forecast

London—Media agency Carat revised its global ad forecast to 6.0% growth this year over last year, up from a previous forecast of 5.7% growth.

For 2007, Carat revised its global ad forecast to 5.8% growth, up from a previous forecast of 5.5% growth.

Carat said the most significant change will be seen in the Asia-Pacific region, which it projects will grow 7.2% this year (up from an earlier estimate of 6.4% growth) and by 7.4% growth next year (up from an earlier forecast of 6.8% growth).

Ad spending in the U.S. will grow by an estimated 5.4% this year over last year, and by 5.2% next year, according to Carat.
