New York—Jim Casella, who had been in the C-suite at Reed Business since 2002, has retired, effective today.
Casella joined the company in 2002 as CEO of Reed Business Information-U.S. In 2005, he moved to the post of vice chairman for Reed Elsevier’s global b-to-b division, Reed Business, focusing on expanding Reed’s footprint in Brazil, Russia, India and China (the so-called BRIC markets).
“Jim has distinguished himself by contributions to Reed Business Information-U.S. and by his efforts to lead our expansion into the fast-growing BRIC markets,” said Reed Business CEO Gerard van de Aast, in a news release.
Prior to joining Reed, Casella was COO of IDG Corp. and president-CEO of PennNet (now PennEnergy).
The company said that Casella’s position would not be filled. His responsibilities will be taken over by David Israel, CEO of Reed Business Information-International.
