CBS Interactive discontinues use of third-party ad networks

San Francisco—CBS Interactive, whose sites include CNET, BNET and ZDNet, announced Monday that all of its properties are immediately discontinuing the use of third-party ad networks for display advertising.

Instead, CBS Interactive has created an in-house network, powered by Madison, its own ad-serving platform.

“In a world of infinite online inventory, advertisers increasingly need to associate with premium properties that connect them to the right audiences in the right environments,” Neil Ashe, president of CBS Interactive, said in a statement.
