CBS Interactive unveils customizable ad unit

San Francisco—CBS Interactive unveiled a new ad unit called “The Lightbox” that is available across its online properties including CBS.com, CBSNews.com, CNET.com, GameSpot.com and TV.com. The unit is a customizable ad format that is illuminated and takes over the entire Web page. The new format debuts today with an ad by GameStop, which is using the Lightbox ad format to promote a new game. The digital ad was created by Slingshot, Dallas, and a TV spot—created by the Richards Group, Dallas—will also run online as part of the campaign.
