CBS radio, outdoor units see third-quarter sales declines

New York—While CBS Corp. reported that third-quarter revenue was essentially unchanged compared with the same period last year, its radio and outdoor advertising divisions suffered steep sales declines.

The parent company reported sales of $3.35 billion for the third quarter, compared with $3.38 billion in the same quarter in 2008. CBS Radio, meanwhile, saw sales decline 19% to $319.9 million. CBS Outdoor’s sales fell 23% to $424.9 million.

These losses were offset by a strong performance by CBS’ TV operations, where sales rose 9% to $2.27 billion.
