The answer will be revealed at American Business Media's Creative Excellence in Business Advertising Awards Sept. 20 at Jazz at Lincoln Center. The Grand CEBA is a $25,000 prize given to the ad agency that created the top campaign; awards are also given for best print advertising, online advertising and events.
"This is our industry's way of thanking the ad agencies and companies that create great advertising," says ABM President-CEO Gordon Hughes II.
This is the 11th year of the CEBA competition, and the annual festivities will include some new excitement as ABM is unveiling its CEBA Hall of Fame. The inaugural inductees will be creative giant George Lois, David Bell of IPG and ad agency BBDO. A hall of fame focused on creative excellence in business advertising is something we can all appreciate.
Why do we need to attend and support this event more than ever? We all have a major stake in the proliferation of strong creative advertising that helps marketers do their jobs. This event, more than any other I know, puts the b-to-b advertising that we profit from front and center. If we don't have the support of advertising agencies, then we won't see as much advertising produced for our publications and Web sites.
I salute companies such as VNU, Reed Business Information and Prism Business Media that are sponsoring this year's event. And I hope you, too, will come out and meet those who are doing the best b-to-b advertising.
