CEIR: Recession had little impact on live-event value

Dallas—Attendees to live events value them highly, with 48% saying that face-to-face interactions at exhibitions, conventions and annual meetings are more valuable today than two years ago, according to a study from the Center for Exhibition Industry Research.

According to CEIR's report, “Change in Value over Next Two Years and Effects of the Great Recession and Online Media,” exhibits at exhibitions, conventions and annual meetings increased in value the most, cited by 48% of respondents to an online survey conducted in April of 9,215 b-to-b event attendees and 885 exhibitors.

Also viewed as increasing in value since 2010 were educational conferences with small exhibit components (36%), in-person sales calls (36%), hosted buyer events (31%), and educational conferences without exhibits (25%).
