CEIR report shows exhibitions remain strong even during recessions

Dallas—The Center for Exhibition Industry Research has released a study that indicates that in recessions, “key buyers continue to attend [exhibitions] each year and the percentage of attendees that actually have plans to purchase remains high.”

The report, “The Effect of Economic Recessions on Exhibitions,” includes research about participation at exhibitions during recessions. In the 1980s, CEIR published two reports on exhibiting during such downturns. The new report includes data from the previous studies and also includes supplemental data for each year from 1968 to 2007.
