Chicago—CFM Direct, a direct marketing ad agency, is the latest in the e-mail industry to publish a white paper on e-mail marketing best practices. "E-mail Marketing Best Practices" covers guidelines for getting the most out of e-mail as a customer acquisition and retention tool. Navigating delivery and compliance is one major focus of the white paper, according to CFM. Tactics include preventing activation of spam filters, avoiding overuse of known "trigger words" and registering with e-mail authentication systems. The white paper also provides CAN-SPAM compliance guidance.
