Chevron Corp., San Ramon, Calif.

Published on .

Company: Chevron Corp., San Ramon, Calif.
Agency: McGarryBowen, New York
Market: Energy
Quick Chase: “Oil companies should put their profits to good use” is a bold headline in which Chevron confronts criticisms of the energy industry head-on. Chevron's answer is equally bold: “We agree.” The company goes on to argue it has “reinvested nearly $100 billion bringing energy to market, helping create thousands of jobs and supporting small businesses.” While some may be left questioning why all that reinvestment hasn't led to lower gasoline prices, the ad does a nice job of addressing industry critics.
Clue: Having Patricia Yarrington, Chevron VP-CFO, sign the ad adds a nice human touch.
