Cisco agrees to buy StratumOne

San Jose, Calif.--Cisco Systems announced Tuesday that it has agreed to acquire privately held StratumOne Communications, a Santa Clara, Calif.-based developer of semiconductor technology, in a stock deal worth about $435 million. Cisco, which already had a minority investment stake in StratumOne, says it is acquiring the company to help accelerate the deployment of services that integrate voice, data and video.
