San Jose, Calif.--Cisco Systems closed Tuesday the $325 million stock-swap acquisition of WebLine Communications Corp., Burlington, Mass., and began banging the drum for its marketing and sales applications that blend Web, telephone, chat, e-mail and voice over Internet protocol. The move is significant because Cisco is angling to leverage its expertise in corporate network infrastructure into a leadership position for applications used to facilitate customer interaction across multiple formats. Cisco made immediately available its Cisco Customer Interaction Suite.
