Cisco slammed for use of report in marketing

Published on .

New York--Optical networking research firm Light Reading has taken Cisco Systems Inc. to task for the use of its test data in marketing materials. Light Reading said it commissioned tests by Network Test Inc. and Spirent Communications to measure the speed of computer hardware used in optical networks, but failed to receive credit in marketing materials released Tuesday by Cisco. Moreover, Cisco claimed it came out as fastest in the report, when in fact Juniper Networks Inc. won the race, Light Reading said. Cisco has not yet responded to Light Reading's allegations.
