Clark-Johnson promoted to president of Gannett’s Newspaper Division

McLean, Va.—Susan Clark-Johnson has been named president of Gannett Co.’s Newspaper Division, effective Sept. 30. She will succeed Gary L. Watson, who is retiring after 39 years with Gannett. Clark-Johnson is being promoted from senior group president of the Gannett Pacific Newspaper Group, the company’s largest regional group, and chairman, CEO and publisher of the Arizona Republic. Her successor will be named later.
