Click Forensics' new 'block list' identifies bad online ad traffic

Published on .

Austin, Texas—Online traffic quality company Click Forensics has expanded its traffic quality management platform with a new "block list" feature, providing ad networks with a continually updated list of addresses and publishers known to generate online advertising fraud. The tool can be used together with the real-time Click Forensics platform to block bad traffic sources and to shift online advertising dollars toward sources that deliver better results, the company said. The company's block list feature also can protect against sources of publisher “collusion fraud,” Click Forensics said. This occurs when online publishers use rotating IP-addresses or botnets to click ads on their own sites to generate inflated commissions from unprotected ad networks.
