Click fraud rate drops

Austin, Texas—The overall industry average click fraud rate was 16.3% for the first quarter, according to Click Forensics, which released its industry pay-per-click fraud figures Monday. That is down slightly from 16.6% in the fourth quarter last year, but up from the 14.8% rate reported for last year’s first quarter.

The findings are derived from Click Forensics’ Click Fraud Index, an independent click fraud reporting service that monitors data gathered from the Click Fraud Network, comprised of more than 4,000 online advertisers and agencies.
