CMGI launches b-to-b sales arm

Published on .

Andover, Mass.--CMGI, the burgeoning network of more than 50 Internet companies, said Wednesday it has formed a company to sell bundled software products and services to corporations. Called CMGI Solutions, the company will deliver an array of transaction, supply chain, sales, marketing and fulfillment software that share a common user interface, as well as strategic consulting and design services. CMGI Solutions, Andover, Mass., has 12 beta customers, including AON Corp. and Cable & Wireless, in preparation for a first-quarter 2000 launch. The move follows CMGI's launch of a $1 billion venture fund for additional investment in and acquisition of Internet business-to-business companies.
