CMO study shows rise in spending

Atlanta—CMOs feel more empowered and have more money to spend, according to a study of CMO trends conducted by the Capre Group, a marketing communications company.

According to the study of more than 90 senior marketing executives, 52% of respondents said their marketing budgets have increased this year over last, while 25% said their marketing budgets have decreased.

The study also found that 79% of respondents said the role of CMO is more empowered today than it was five years ago.

Also, while 75% of respondents said integrated marketing is very important to the overall efforts of their organizations, only 57% said they are doing a better job than their competition in developing integrated marketing efforts.
