The new site, which replaces CMPâs ChipCenter site, will feature new-product announcements and product reviews. It is intended to be an alternative to the broad information provided by Internet searches and company-focused information provided by manufacturer Web sites.
The eeProductCenter staff includes a team of editors led by editorial director Stephan Ohr.
âWe are applying an editorial filter,â said David Blaza, associate publisher of EE Times. âThere is a tremendous amount of information coming from semiconductor manufacturers. Some of these companies launch hundreds of products a year. Today no print publication can really cover them effectively.â
CMP Media will now focus its new-product coverage on the Web, but EE Times will still publish its regular eeProductWeek section, based on data published online at eeProductCenter.
