CMP Media ad pages decline in August

Manhasset, N.Y.—United Business Media’s CMP Media reported Friday that ad page volumes for tech publishing were down 5.4% in August 2004 compared with August 2003. In the same time frame, CMP Media’s continuing publications were down 7.1%, but when discontinued publications are factored in, CMP Media’s ad pages were off 13.3%. CMP Media’s top performers for August 2004 were EE Times, which was up 36.8% in ad pages for the month, and VARBusiness, which was up 17.5% for the month. The biggest drop in ad pages occurred at CRN, which was down 22.4% in August 2004 compared with August 2003.
