CMP names 'Dr. Dobbs' publisher

Published on .

Manhasset, N.Y.—CMP Media announced Wednesday that Michael Goodman is the new publisher of Dr. Dobb's Journal, a magazine for software developers. Former Publisher Tim Trickett is leaving CMP after 17 years to “pursue new opportunities.” Goodman will report to Peter Westerman, VP-group publisher of software development media at CMP. For Goodman, the new job is a homecoming of sorts: He worked at Dr. Dobb's Journal in the mid-1980's. He comes to the magazine from O'Reilly Media, where he was director of corporate sales.
