Manhasset, N.Y.--CMP Media posted a net loss of $574,000 for the first quarter of this year, compared with net income of $1.2 million for the same period last year, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The decline is due in large part to a sharp drop-off in ad pages. CMP's ad pages fell to 6,855, down 22%, from a year earlier. Revenue declined 3% to $105.9 million. Pending Miller Freeman's acquisition of CMP, this will be the tech publisher's last quarterly SEC filing as an independent company.
